Dr. Cheri L. Hausmann

I specialize in treating clients who struggle with existential depression, grief, loss, spirituality, relationships, family-of-origin issues, and intimacy concerns. As a psychodynamic therapist, I am attentive to how early family dynamics and formative relationships have influenced a client's sense of self, identity, and expectations in relationships. Clinically, I draw from psychoanalytic orientations and am a scholar in psychoanalysis and philosophy.

CLINICAL BACKGROUND

My professional journey began in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and yoga teacher. I began my clinical career at The Treehouse in Scurry, Texas, where I worked as a meditation instructor and addictions counselor. From there, I expanded into hypnotherapy where I specialized in assisting clients to work through impulse control disorders and addictions. During my graduate studies to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I served as a family counselor supporting couples raising children with autism. After graduation, I opened my own practice for couples and individual adults.

ABOUT ME

Inspired by the ocean, I currently reside in Galveston, Texas. Originally from the East Coast, I have spent most of my life in Texas, including Denton and Dallas, and have also lived in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my son to Hawaii and exploring other coastal and mountainous destinations.
